The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams will be squaring off for the second time this season when they meet again in the divisional round of the playoffs on Sunday. They collided way back in Week 3, when the Rams had home-field advantage and took care of business 34-24.

Tampa Bay is playing at home this time around as the No. 2 seed to Los Angeles’ No. 4. Will that be enough to help Tom Brady and company turn the tide? Will he and longtime sidekick Rob Gronkowski hook up and help their team make another run to the Super Bowl? Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. For now we are focused on the best touchdown scorer prop bets for Rams vs Bucs.

First touchdown scorer: Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Los Angeles Rams (+1200)

I’m not big fan of favorites in this market, because the first touchdown scorer is generally a crapshoot (there are some exceptions like Derrick Henry, when he was healthy). You can almost always find better value with longer odds. In this case I am sort of going in between the 2 extremes. Beckham Jr. is not one of the favorites but also isn’t an outrageous long-shot. At +1200, L.A.’s new receiver has great value.

Since being acquired by the Rams in early November, OBJ has reached paydirt in 6 of 9 games – including in 6 of the last 8. He has scored in 3 of the last 4 after finding the endzone during a 34-11 romp over the NFC West rival Cardinals on Monday night. Winners of 6 of their last 7, the Rams have a ton of momentum right now. All of the pressure is on the Bucs, who are favored (albeit slightly) and also extremely banged up on both sides of the ball. Don’t be surprised if Los Angeles scores first, and it could be OBJ who is responsible.

Here is our same game parlay for Los Angeles Rams vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+719 odds!)

Anytime touchdown scorer: Rob Gronkowski, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+137)

Last week fellow NFL handicapper Chris Rivers and I combined to go 6 for 7 on anytime touchdown scorer props. One of my winners was Gronkowski +130, so I’m rolling with him again. His TD during a 31-15 victory over Philadelphia gave him 3 in the last 2 playoff games; that includes 2 in last year’s Super Bowl. The Brady-to-Gronkowski connection simply heats up in direct correlation with the stakes. You can’t bet against either guy in the playoffs. Getting Gronk at +137 is a deal that shouldn’t be missed.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer FAQs

What does “anytime touchdown scorer” mean?

Anytime touchdown scorer is a popular player prop bet that NFL bettors can wager on throughout the season. But what is it, and how do you win?

As the name suggests, placing a wager on the anytime touchdown scorer market is when you tip a particular player to score a touchdown during a game. This can be a rushing or receiving touchdown for an offensive player, or you can wager on a team’s defense/special teams to score a touchdown by interception return and fumble return or kickoff and punt returns.

If your player or defense scores a touchdown, you win! The odds will differ from player-to-player depending on the sportsbooks’ calculated probability of that player scoring.

Does anytime touchdown scorer include passing touchdowns?

Not for a quarterback, no. A player must get into the end zone, himself, in order to qualify as an anytime touchdown scorer. If a quarterback throws a touchdown pass, only the player who caught it counts as the scorer. If Tua Tagovailoa throws a touchdown pass to Jaylen Waddle, wagers placed on Waddle as an anytime touchdown scorer will cash. However, those placed on Tagovailoa as an anytime touchdown scorer will not (unless he also runs for a TD). See below for more on what the anytime touchdown scorer market means for quarterbacks.

What does anytime touchdown scorer mean for a QB?

For a wager on a QB to be an anytime touchdown scorer to cash, he must follow the same rules as a running back, tight end, or receiver. He must get into the end zone himself, either as a runner or a pass-catcher.

In the age of the mobile quarterback, QBs such as Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, and Josh Allen are often seen rushing in for a touchdown on any given Sunday. And don’t forget the occasional Philly Special, either. QBs can sometimes catch passes for TDs, too.
