A matchup featuring the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks may not be a potential Super Bowl preview, but it is worthy of Monday Night Football treatment for one reason and one reason only: Russell Wilson is facing his former team. Now with Denver, Wilson and company will go into Seattle and try to pick up a season-opening victory. Here is our same game parlay, and also be sure to check out our full Broncos vs Seahawks preview in addition to best touchdown scorer bets.

Seahawks +6.5 (-108)

Geno Smith to record 200+ passing yards (-136)

Tyler Lockett to record 70+ receiving yards (+240)

Parlay odds: +611

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is the entire plan here, as both Geno Smith and Tyler Lockett racking up their fair share of yards would obviously work well with a Seahawks cover. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

Seattle Seahawks +6.5 (-108) over Denver Broncos

For a Week 1 matchup between 2 new-look teams, this is simply too big of a spread. When you can get the Seahawks above the key number of 6, it’s an opportunity that should be taken. It’s hard to see the Broncos firing on all cylinders in the early stages of the season with a new signal-caller playing in a different system following 10 years with the Seahawks and working with a new head coach, new offensive coordinator and new skill-position weapons. Moreover, Seattle’s coaching staff knows everything about Wilson’s strengths and weaknesses; head coach Pete Carroll should come out with a perfect game plan.

On the offensive side of the ball, Seahawks running back Rashad Penny was amazing down the stretch last season. He will be a nice complement for Smith, who won’t have the pressure all on his shoulders. Denver’s defense may not be overly formidable during the first few weeks, with former head coach and defensive guru Vic Fangio having departed.

Geno Smith to record 200+ passing yards (-136)

The market is undervaluing Smith and Seattle as a whole. The former West Virginia standout played well in 3-plus games while filling in for Wilson last year. He exceeded the 200-yard mark once and came within 5 yards of it against the Jaguars in a 31-7 rout. Smith surely would have gone way over the number if that contest had been more competitive. He won’t be rusty, either, because he saw plenty of action during the preseason. On 45 drop-backs, Smith posted the 4th-highest PFF grade, 5th-highest percentage of big-time throws and made zero turnover-worthy plays.

Tyler Lockett to record 70+ receiving yards (+240)

Lockett went over the 70 mark 7 times last season, including 5 100-yard performances. He produced at least 96 yards on 2 other occasions. Sure, catching passes from Wilson is more favorable than from Smith, but that’s why you can get such a good price on this prop. Odds of +240 for such a modest quota?! Yes, please! In 1 of Smith’s 3 starts last year, Lockett was targeted 13 times and made 12 receptions for 142 yards.
