NHL Saturday mega parlay (+767 odds): Can the Leafs take down the Avs?

Jan 13, 2021; Toronto, Ontario, CAN; Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews (34) skates with the puck against the Montreal Canadiens at Scotiabank Arena.

Saturday brings us a jam-packed slate of 11 NHL games. That means we have plenty to work with when putting together today’s mega parlay. This parlay is paying out north of 7/1 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. Along with this parlay, don’t forget to check out our full game previews for each NHL matchup.

Now let’s get to it.

Predators -1.5 (+100)

Maple Leafs ML (+132)

Red Wings/Kings under 5.5 (-115)

Parlay odds: +767

Nashville Predators -1.5 (+100) over Arizona Coyotes

These Predators are lethal, as they have re-gained the same confidence that they had during their dominant 7-game winning streak in early December. The return from the Christmas break found this team losing 2 straight games, but it has since turned things around to go on a 3-game surge. We know what kind of team the Coyotes are, and even coming off a win against the Chicago Blackhawks things could get ugly for them.

Nashville has found great success by shutting teams down with a sound defense. The Predators will look to utilize a similar strategy against Arizona, which will spell big trouble. This Coyotes team averages 2.2 goals per game, which has them ranking an embarrassing 31st overall. Matching up against the likes of Mattias Ekholm and Roman Josi on the back end isn’t what the Coyotes’ forwards — or any group of forwards for that matter — want to see. They will probably be facing Nashville backup David Rittich, but this won’t play as a huge factor. Look for Nashville to play stingy defense and diminish any offensive chances for Arizona — resulting in a big victory.

Toronto Maple Leafs ML (+132) over Colorado Avalanche

The Toronto offense is locked in right now, having scored 20 goals over their last 4 games. The Avalanche are scoring a ton of goals at home, but the good news is that the Maple Leafs rank 4th in the league in terms of goals per game on the road (3.38). If anybody has the firepower to hang with the Avs right now, it is the Leafs.

Jack Campbell is slated to start between the pipes for Toronto and he gives them the edge in net. Campbell is putting together a fantastic season. He is 17-5-2 with an impressive 1.87 GAA and .939 save percentage. Campbell is also cruising as of late, surrendering just 3 total goals in his last 3 starts. His counterpart, Darcy Kuemper, is posting a 2.86 GAA and .912 save percentage. The value on the Leafs may be too good to pass up.

Red Wings/Kings under 5.5 (-115)

The Kings have been one of the best under teams in the league so far this season. The under is 21-12 for Los Angeles, and it is the recommendation in this matchup. These teams have not met since 2019, so the first period could be spent figuring out each others game plan. Detroit is scoring 2.47 goals per game on the road, which ranks 25th in the league in such scenarios. Los Angeles is putting up 2.90 goals per game at home, which is 20th in the league. Both teams have seen spotty goaltending this season, but it’s not like the offenses are lighting it up either. Consider the under in this one.
