Now let’s get to it.

Kings ML (+140)

Senators ML (+122)

Devils vs Red Wings under 6 (-112)

Parlay odds: +908

Los Angeles Kings ML (+140) over Carolina Hurricanes

Due to a COVID outbreak over the last week, the Carolina Hurricanes are playing this game against the Los Angeles Kings rather shorthanded. Notable players sidelined for Carolina include Andrei Svechnikov, Sebastian Aho, Seth Jarvis, and captain Jordan Staal. The losses of Svechnikov and Aho are particularly impactful, as they are a dynamic scoring duo who lead Carolina’s attack.

Los Angeles has won 3 of their last 4 games, and the lone loss came in overtime against Tampa Bay. They are coming off an impressive 4-1 win over the Panthers, and Jonathan Quick has posted victories in 4 of his last 5 appearances. The Hurricanes are a tough team to beat at home, but there is great value on the Kings in this spot. Of Carolina’s 16 skaters against Detroit, 3 were making their season debut at the NHL level. The value is on the Kings.

Ottawa Senators ML (+122) over Philadelphia Flyers

The Senators are not the greatest hockey team out there, but they have been playing great hockey of late. They are 5-2-0 in their last 7 games, with the losses coming in close games. Offensively, neither team is great. Both rank in the bottom half of the league in terms of goals per game, bottom 10 in expected goals per 60 minutes, and bottom 8 in goals scored.

Defensively, things may be worse as both teams rank in the bottom 3 in expected goals against per 60 minutes and bottom 11 in both goals allowed and goals against per game, with the Senators ranking 31st with 3.59 goals against per game. The advantage in this game comes from the value with the Senators. The sportsbooks still feel this is a bad team, but they haven’t played like it recently. Take the value while the Senators are playing well.

Devils vs Red Wings under 6 (-112)

Between the Devils and Red Wings, goals don’t come at a high rate. They both rank in the mid-low ranks of the league when it comes to offense, and forwards Robby Fabbri and Nico Hischeir being out doesn’t help the cause. The only hope for a high-scoring game is the defensive side, as the Devils and Red Wings rank 7th- and 8th-worst respectively in goals against.

Being aware of the poor offense their opponents have, these teams will be eager to try to fix the defensive struggles. Goals might be tough to come by, so take the under.
