The NHL season always has its fair share of slow nights, but tonight is not one of them. We have a loaded 10-game slate for us to boost our bankroll heading into the weekend. Along with your individual side and total plays, we can parlay our favorite ones together for a mega payout. Analyzing so many games can be overwhelming, but that’s what we’re here for. We have broken down each matchup and targeted the 3 best plays to piece together.

Before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks for today’s action.

Florida Panthers -1.5 (+115) over Philadelphia Flyers

The Panthers came through for us with a best bet over the weekend and should have another great game tonight. There are a lot of great things going on in Philly between the Eagles and Phillies. However, the Flyers haven’t exactly been the talk of the town for quite some time. They shot out of the gates to begin the season, but it seems that the honeymoon phase may be starting to fizzle out.

Philly didn’t make very many significant changes over the offseason, so this was expected. The Flyers finished with the 2nd-worst record in the Eastern Conference, while the Panthers won the Presidents’ Trophy for the NHL’s best record. The city of Philly may be popping, but it wasn’t in the Wells Fargo Center this weekend. The Flyers not only lost to the San Jose Sharks, but they were also shut out. The Sharks began their season 0-5-0, so that sums up that embarrassing defeat. Florida beat the Flyers in all 3 meetings last year and already have this season, so expect more of the same tonight.

Minnesota Wild vs Ottawa Senators – Over 6.5 (-130)

Rather than relying on a team to win this game, we are going to root for goals instead. The Minnesota Wild are allowing more goals than expected with goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury in net, and the Ottawa Senators are a much-improved team from last season. With that in mind, there is no sense in sweating out a victor. Instead, the Wild should continue to find the back of the net as they have always done. The Sens can also put their new additions to good use; they acquired Alex DeBrincat from the Chicago Blackhawks and Claude Giroux from the Panthers.

The 2 have fit in well with Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson to make the Sens a real threat. They have won 4 straight games, scoring at least 4 goals in each game. That includes a 7-5 win over the Boston Bruins. The Wild have scored 6 goals in a game, themselves, and have also lost a game 6-3. Similarly, both of the meetings between these teams last season went over the total. Minnesota is now allowing more goals and the Sens have gotten stronger, so that trend should continue.

Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 (+120) over San Jose Sharks

Let’s wrap things up with another matchup that should have a clear winner. We have touched on the Sharks struggles already, and those should continue tonight. While they did recently take down the Flyers, they followed that up by heading back home to San Jose and losing to the Vegas Golden Knights. That put them at 2-7 on the season. Now they have to face a stacked Toronto Maple Leafs roster and then the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.

Those are 2 of the best teams in the NHL, so expect Auston Matthews to put that on display tonight. He has not gotten off the same goal-scoring start as he had last year, but that certainly doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of doing so. Becoming the first American-born skater to record 60 goals in a season is no small feat. These teams don’t meet often, but the Leafs sunk the Sharks 4-1 the last time they faced off. The Sharks have already lost games to the Blackhawks and New Jersey Devils, so it’s hard to imagine they will be able to keep up with Matthews and company.
