Two Game 6s are on the horizon on Thursday with the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks looking to close out their respective series against the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. Let’s dive into my best NBA player prop bets for Thursday, May 2, while you can also check out our NBA picks for both of today’s matchups.

Kelly Oubre Jr, PHI, Over 12.5 points (+102)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

I’ve picked the wrong time to back Kelly Oubre Jr. every game this series. In the series’ first 2 games, his confidence looked shot, and he wasn’t pulling the trigger from deep when open. Since then, he’s eclipsed his point total in every game. He’s becoming the true #3 option for Philadelphia, even with Tobias Harris having a great Game 5.

The Knicks threw everything at Joel Embiid in Game 5. He had 9 turnovers and the offense looked stagnant at times. Then came Tyrese Maxey to the rescue. Josh Hart and Miles McBride were put on islands and failed to stop the Most Improved Player. We’ll see how the Knicks decide to defend Maxey — especially in the pick-and-roll game. I expect double teams and hedges to get the ball to guys like Tobias Harris, Kelly Oubre and Nicolas Batum and have them beat them.

Kyle Lowry, PHI, Under 14.5 points+rebounds+assists (-125)

Odds available at BetMGM at time of publishing.

Kyle Lowry has been an excellent acquisition for the 76ers this season. He brings veteran guard leadership and aggressive defense — 2 much-needed skills come playoff time. But Lowry doesn’t give the 76ers the best chance to extend this series to 7 games. He attempted 4 shots from the field last game while registering a 7% usage rate. Nicolas Batum provides a longer defender on the court, a better rebounder and, most importantly, a better outside shooter when Embiid gets doubled in the post.
