I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. The new NHL week starts off with a light Monday, as we have just 2 games on the slate. However, they are far from meaningless. Plenty is still left to be decided in the Eastern Conference, and the defending Stanley Cup-champion Vegas Golden Knights are simply worried about making the postseason at all this year. We’re not going to force any picks, but there is a spot that we love in that Golden Knights vs Canucks game, so let’s break down the best of our NHL player prop bet picks for today. Along with our best NHL player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Jack Eichel over 3.5 shots on goal (-120)

Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to -135.

One of the reasons that Vegas hasn’t been quite as strong this year is due to missing superstar Jack Eichel for several games. Injuries have plagued his career since his time with the Buffalo Sabres, but his issues now are not nearly as serious. He’s been back on the ice and in a big way. While his 251 shots so far this season isn’t the largest raw number, based on how many games he’s played, his shots per goal are the 5th-most in the NHL (4.40/game).

Playing the Vancouver Canucks does not generally provide a great matchup in that department, but Jack Eichel simply doesn’t care about the opposition. The Golden Knights have played the Canucks 3 times this season, and Jack Eichel has recorded 6 or more shots in each of them. The most recent was just 6 days ago with 7 shots on goal. That made it 7 of 9 games in which he recorded 4 or more shots, including multiple 7 and 8-shot performances. All that to say that his consistency is unmatched, which is why Jack Eichel is the focus of our NHL prop bet picks for today.
