The middle of the week in the NHL hits a little bit of a lull as there are just 2 games on Tuesday and 4 on Wednesday before a stacked 12-game slate on Thursday. Tonight, the Kings visit the Maple Leafs and the Predators visit the Canucks. All 4 teams suited up have been solid to start the season and have playoff aspirations. What tonight lacks in quantity of games should be made up for in quality. You can also find out our NHL predictions for today’s slate, but for now, let’s dive into our best NHL prop bets.

Tyler Bertuzzi over 0.5 points (-105)

As broadly expected, the Maple Leafs have been very good to start the season. Year after year, Toronto is great in the regular season but struggles in the playoffs. We’ll cross that bridge when the playoffs arrive, but for now, they appear to be a force during the regular season once again. This will be a great game as both are off to good starts and have been strong offensively.

The Kings lead the NHL in goals scored per game and the Leafs rank T-9th. This could be a high-scoring game and if it is, Tyler Bertuzzi has good value to tally a point. Bertuzzi is on Toronto’s second line with William Nylander, who has 12 points, and John Tavares, who has 11 points. Bertuzzi is also on the second power play. This has the makings of a close, high-scoring game. If that is the case, Bertuzzi and his line will get even more ice time as top players will be relied on. Even at -105, this is good value.

J.T. Miller over 2.5 shots on goal (-105)

At 5-2-1, Vancouver is 6th in the NHL in point percentage. Among other reasons for early-season success, the Canucks’ top players are playing like top players. Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser and Quinn Hughes each average at least a point per game. On Tuesday, they get a matchup against the Predators who they have already beat in the past week.

So far, Vancouver has scored the 5th-most goals per game in the NHL and the Predators have allowed the 7th-fewest goals per game in the league. If this becomes a game where team strengths keep this one close, top players will get the most ice time and will get as many pucks on net as possible. J.T. Miller leads Canucks forwards in average time on ice and has 12 points in 8 games played. Similar to Bertuzzi, even though it is not plus money, odds of -105 for Miller to put up 3+ shots and be a big part of this game is solid value.
