Sandwiched in between a couple of 13-game slates is tonight’s small 2-game schedule. The Devils visit the Capitals for a 7:30 pm ET puck drop and then the Maple Leafs visit the Ducks at 9:00 pm ET. On a quiet night in the NHL, your favorite team most likely is not suited up. Despite that, there is some good betting value on the board to give you something to root for if you do not have any plans and can watch these games.

You can find out our best NHL player prop bets below, but make sure you also read our NHL predictions for today’s games.

Dylan Strome, WAS, Over 0.5 points (-105)

The calendar has turned and the Capitals somehow are still clinging to a playoff spot. With all due respect to the Caps, the word “somehow” refers to their 2.34 goals per game. That goals per game is the second-lowest in the NHL. They seem to figure things out, though, when they play New Jersey. In 2 head-to-head games against the Devils this season, the Capitals have won 6-4 and 4-2. There is something about the Devils which the Capitals matchup well.

If Washington can bring similar form into this game as their prior matchup, then goals should not be as difficult to come by. The team leader in both goals and points is Dylan Strome. He will have a good chance to produce tonight, as the Devils have the NHL’s 5th-worst goal prevention. Strome has points in his last 2 games and tonight’s contest could see another high total overall. Look for the team points leader to get on the score sheet.

William Nylander, TOR, Over 0.5 goals (+110)

This is a very lopsided game in favor of the Maple Leafs. Unless they completely mail it in, they should not have any issues taking care of business against the Ducks. In doing so, Toronto’s studs have a great chance to pad their stats. William Nylander leads the Maple Leafs with 50 points, which is 6 clear of second-best Auston Matthews. Nylander also has the second-most goals on the team, which of course is behind Matthews. Nylander has as good of a chance as anyone to produce tonight.

Even though this is a goals prop and not a points prop, the +110 is still solid value. This is a talented player on a stacked team that plays with capable linemates. Nylander gets a very soft matchup tonight and has 3 goals in his last 3 games. He is currently on a line with John Tavares and Tyler Bertuzzi, as well as on the top power play with Matthews, Tavares, Mitch Marner and Morgan Reilly. This plus money feels too good to pass up.
