Best Bet of the Day

MLB: Tampa Bay Rays ML over Miami Marlins (-105)
6:40 pm ET, Bally Sports

Aaron Civale’s Tampa Bay debut after being acquired at the trade deadline did not go well, but since then he has impressed. The Rays have won each of his past 3 starts and in those 3 he allowed only 5 total runs in 16.0 innings. Civale is a big reason why the Rays are keeping pace with the red-hot Orioles and still within striking distance in the American League East. The Rays have won 6 of their last 7 games, while the Marlins are going in the opposite direction. They have fallen well off the wild-card pace and have lost 4 straight series.Give me TB to win by multiple runs. Check out our full Rays vs Marlins predictions.

Stat of the Day

Quote of the Day

Looking at it in a different view, it’s a last-place team. We don’t need to worry about it. We need to focus on what we need to do down the stretch. If they lose a guy, it’s not going to be quite as big of a deal as if we’re losing one of our guys. We’re focused up on kind of a bigger picture.

— Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe referring to the Yankees after the 2 American League East rivalries emptied the benches multiple times during Sunday’s game.
