Good morning, Pickswise Nation. The week in Major League Baseball continues with a 10-game slate, but it’s a Thursday and that means MLB action isn’t alone on the sports schedule. We also have both college and NFL games on the gridiron tonight, while the PGA Tour’s fall swing begins with the Fortinet Championship. It’s another big day in the world of sports, so let’s get right to it and make your next bet better with Wise n’ Shine!

About Last Night

Braves first to clinch division title in 2023
It’s not even officially fall yet, but it’s starting to feel like it with MLB teams clinching division titles. Well, that is the case at least for the Braves; it won’t be for anyone else at least for a few more days. Atlanta clinched its sixth straight NL East crown on Wednesday by beating Philadelphia 4-1. As for Pickswise’s success, we are now on a 4-0 YRFI/NRFI run following a clean 2-0 sweep last night.

Eagles host Vikings on Thursday Night Football
Week 2 in the NFL is here! It kicks off with a TNF showdown between Minnesota and Philadelphia. Check out our Vikings vs Eagles predictions.

Memphis looks to sink Navy
The college kids will also be throwing the pigskin around on Thursday. Memphis (2-0) is hosting Navy (1-1) and is favored by 14.5 points. Read all of our college football picks.

Rays, Orioles battle for AL East supremacy
Compared to the NL East, the AL East is far more interesting. Baltimore holds a 2-game lead over Tampa Bay heading into an absolutely crucial 4-game series between the 2 teams starting tonight at 7:15 pm ET on FOX. Also on the docket is Yankees vs Red Sox and Rangers vs Blue Jays. Don’t miss our MLB predictions.

Best Bet of the Day

NCAAF: Memphis Tigers -14.5 over Navy (-110)
7:30 pm ET, ESPN

Memphis has home-field advantage in this Thursday night matchup and should be able to win big against Navy. The biggest reason for confidence in the Tigers is their well-balanced offense. Veteran quarterback Seth Henigan runs the show and is complimented by a dynamic rushing attack. This is a team that can contend in the American Athletic Conference. Can Navy come close to keeping up? Maybe not. The Midshipmen got destroyed by Notre Dame in Ireland to begin the season and they didn’t even look that dominant against Wagner. The Tigers should be able to prevail by more than 2 touchdowns. Check out our full Navy vs Memphis predictions.

This game can be bet over at PointsBet, where new customers can place a single $50+ cash bet with odds of -500 or longer and get a $150 promotional credit to use exclusively at Fanatics.com. Click here to find out more and lock in this great sign-up offer.

Stat of the Day

Kodai Senga of the Mets (10-7, 3.07 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) has made 12 consecutive starts without allowing more than 3 runs heading into Thursday’s schedule appearance against the Diamondbacks.

Quote of the Day

You never want it to happen, but it does. I said to our coaches, ‘it’s not like we were throwing it to some bums on the outside.’ We were throwing it to AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith.

— Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni referencing the fact that tight end Dallas Goedert had zero catches during last week’s victory over the Patriots
