XFL 2020 Championship Odds, Predictions & Expert Best Bets

Nelson Spruce practicing with the LA Rams

The 2020 XFL season will kick-off once again this weekend as there is more football to watch a week after the biggest game of them all, the Super Bowl. It may have taken a 20-year hiatus, but the XFL is coming back with eight brand new franchisees ready to take over the football industry. With a total of eight teams ready to battle it out for the championship crown, it’s time to take a look at the future championship odds and which holds the best value to make before the opening weekend. Looking for our opening XFL weekend picks? Check out our XFL Predictions now!

Best Value – Houston Roughnecks +650

The Roughnecks could easily be the surprise of the XFL and take over the league, or quickly fall apart as they do not appear to have a strong running attack. The beginning of the season will start with Temple star Walker under center, and if he can get it done early, this might be a team to watch.

They also do not have a TE on their roster so expect passing and lots of it. I’m a huge fan of the way Jones runs the offense and can see Walker surprising people here. On the flip side, the defense is just as good as they are filled with talent that includes Deji Olatoye, Kony Ealy and AAF star DeMarquis Gates. I’ve been a fan of the Roughnecks since the draft as they have an underdog story written all over it. I have a good feeling, that the XFL champion will be an offensive powerhouse and that could form into the Roughnecks.

They have great value, hence this is my best value bet for the XFL Championship future bet. Besides the future bet, I also love the value of the Over Under pick.

The Longshot – LA Wildcats + 750

Remember the LA Xtreme? They brought the same championship attitude into the XFL back 20 years ago and won it all. Now QB Josh Johnson along with WR’s Nelson Spruce and Jordan Smallwood might not be the sexiest offense in the XFL, but they can gut out some tough wins. If they can gut out those tough wins, they can easily cross over four wins for an easy win total bet as well.

I love the value here especially since it keeps rising and rising. Also, keep in mind that the Wildcats have one of the few mobile quarterbacks in the league as that could cause problems in the league. If there is one team to challenge the Dallas Renegades in the West it is only the LA Wildcats.  You gotta take a longshot on one of these championship odds and that belongs to the LA Wildcats.

The True Contender – DC Defenders +450

The DC Defenders have everything to make a championship run and it starts with the coaching experience. DC has a handful of coaches to lead this potential offensive power unit to the promised land and the value is there as well. With potentially winning the first two games off the bat, these odds will decrease.

A good championship team is run by championship coaches and that starts with Pep Hamilton who worked under  David Shaw’s Stanford teams, Chuck Pagano’s Colts teams and Jim Harbaugh at Michigan from 2017 to 2018. The quarterback position is going to play a huge role in the XFL and Cardale Jones has a perfect size and athletic ability to win games fast and often for the Defenders.

Jones was once a National Championship with Ohio State in 2015, he knows what it takes to bring home the bacon and will have the same energy heading into this XFL season. If I were to pick an XFL championship winner right now, it is the DC DEFENDERS.
