Week 9 of the 2026 NFL season wraps up with Monday Night Football between the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Based on records, at least, it is a potential Super Bowl preview. Both teams are 6-1, Buffalo despite a porous defense and Minnesota despite an inept offense.

Here is my SGP for Thursday’s primetime festivities, which get underway at 8:15 pm ET on ESPN. Also be sure to check out our full Bills vs Vikings predictions.

Bills -3 (-118)

James Cook III Over 83.5 rushing yards (-114)

James Cook III to score a touchdown (-105)

Carson Wentz Over 209.5 passing yards (-113)

Parlay odds: +650

Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Buffalo running back James Cook having a big night would obviously work well with a Bills win and cover. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing Minnesota quarterback Carson Wentz to throw for his fair share of yards. But even if he does, there is no reason why the visitors can’t take care of business. Let’s break down each of the three legs.

Bills -3 (-105)

This should be a fascinating matchup of strength vs strength and weakness vs weakness. The Bills’ offense is amazing, but the Vikings bring one of the best defenses to the table; the Vikings’ offense stinks, but the Bills have a defense that can give up points to anyone. In this case, I’m rolling with offense. Buffalo is #1 in the entire NFL in scoring (33.3 points per game) and #2 in yards (393.1 per game). Former offensive coordinator Joe Brady is now the head coach, and if anything Josh Allen has gotten even better. Allen, who has accounted for 20 total touchdowns (11 passing, nine rushing) is currently the first or second favorite to earn NFL MVP honors depending on the sportsbook. Minnesota is coming off a tough, physical matchup against NFC North rival Detroit and it resulted in the Vikings’ first loss of the season – an ugly 19-15 decision. Yes, their 6-1 record is still impressive – but they have not defeated anyone good since Week 2. Kyler Murray is out with a hamstring injury, so Carson Wentz will be under center for the home side. Wentz may not be the worst backup in the world, but 2017 ain’t walkin’ through that door. To say that this isn’t the MVP contender version of Wentz would be a gross understatement. I can’t see the Vikes keeping up with Bills’ high-octane attack.

James Cook III Over 83.5 rushing yards (-114) and to score a touchdown (-105)

Minnesota is incredible against the pass, ranking first in the NFL at a mere 154.9 yards per game allowed through the air on 6.2 yards per attempt (third fewest). The unit can, however, be attacked on the ground. The Vikings are giving up 116.7 rushing yards per contest on 4.5 yards per carry (ninth most). Cook has been awesome so far in 2026 and should be able to take advantage of a nice opportunity. The Georgia product has racked up 707 rushing yards through seven games and has not rushed for fewer than 75 yards since Week 1. He has scored seven touchdowns and has not been kept out of the endzone since the season opener. Cook has delivered four TDs in his last three outings.

Carson Wentz Over 209.5 passing yards (-113)

This actually works quite nicely with the Bills covering. After all, a negative game script for the Vikings – which is anticipated – calls for them to be play from behind and therefore taking to the air. Although Wentz is nothing special at this point in his career, 209.5 is not a particularly big number. In five appearances last year, the former North Dakota State standout threw for at least 236 yards three times – including 313 or more twice. He is still a serviceable NFL signal-caller. As for Buffalo’s pass defense, it is third-to-last in the league at 254.7 yards per game allowed.
