Chiefs vs Seahawks Player Props: Best Bets and Predictions

Week 7 of the NFL regular season provides a very fun matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks, unofficially dubbed the Kenneth Walker Bowl. After winning Super Bowl MVP last year, Walker will return to Lumen field for the first time as a member of the opposing team. His Chiefs are one of the lone undefeated teams left in the league; everyone will have their eyes on this one.

Ahead of the Sunday Night Football action in Week 7, here are my favorite player prop bets to make for each team when the Chiefs and Seahawks meet in Seattle. For more picks, find our NFL predictions, while you can find our NFL best bets for our most confident picks in Week 7.

NFL SNF Player Prop: Kenneth Walker III (KC) over 3.5 receptions (+125)

Odds available at BetMGM at the time of publishing. Playable to +100.

I fully expect the Seahawks to sell out in an effort to prevent their former teammate from running all over them. Whether they succeed in doing that remains to be seen, but as a result, I’m looking for Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid to find other ways to get Walker the ball.

Walker hasn’t been needed as a pass-catcher very often, but he recorded nine receptions on 16 targets across his first two games with his new organization. Considering Rashee Rice will miss this game, there should be targets to go around. Plus, KC catching points on the road suggests they’ll be in a negative game script at times, which increases running-back targets in most cases.

KW3 is already third on the team in targets and receptions, while the Seahawks have surrendered the fourth-most receptions to running backs through six games. At a nice juicy price, I really like Walker to grab at least four passes. For what it’s worth, Denver’s backfield had six receptions against the Seahawks last week, while CMC caught three passes, the Chargers backfield caught nine passes and both the Cardinals and Patriots backs caught at least five passes against this defense.

NFL SNF Player Prop: AJ Barner (SEA) over 23.5 receiving yards (-115)

Odds available at bet365 at the time of publishing. Playable to 29.5.

Similarly on the other end, the Chiefs should be focused on limiting Jaxson Smith-Njigba as much as possible. Assuming they sell out in that strategy, I’m looking for tight end AJ Barner to do some damage on National Tight Ends Day.

Barner wasn’t used a ton early in the season. He missed some time, and so did starting QB Sam Darnold – who loves throwing Barner’s way. Since Darnold’s return from injury against the Commanders a month ago, Barner has garnered 21 targets in four games, catching 12 of those passes for more than 115 yards.

Defending opposing tight ends has been a weakness for the Chiefs thus far. They’ve surrendered the third-most targets and receptions to tight ends, as well as more than 70 yards per game to the position. That includes massive games for both Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer, as well as Miami’s Greg Dulcich (five receptions, 55 yards) and Denver’s Evan Engram (four catches, 43 yards, one TD). At such an attainable number, I love this spot for Barner, and I wouldn’t mind laddering this up to 50 yards for around +450 or +500.
