Cowboys vs Packers Same Game Parlay: Best SGP Picks
Week 6 of the NFL season continues with Sunday Night Football between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. It could end up being a crucial contest in the NFC wild-card race, as Dallas comes in with a 2-3 record and Green Bay sits at 3-2. Of course, the Cowboys still have a very good chance to win its division as part of a dreadful NFC East.
I cashed a pair of Week 4 Same Game Parlays (+750 on TNF between the Steelers vs Browns and +650 on MNF between the Falcons and Saints) before striking again at +700 on MNF in Week 5 (Brills vs Rams). Let's keep the momentum going with my SGP for Sunday’s primetime festivities, which get underway at 8:20 pm ET on NBC. Also be sure to check out our full Cowboys vs Packers predictions.
Packers -2.5 alternate spread (+102)
Jordan Love Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-179)
Javonte Williams Over 68.5 rushing yards (-114)
Parlay odds: +575
Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love tossing a pair of touchdown passes would obviously work well with a Packers victory. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with tipping Dallas running back Javonte Williams to have a productive night. But even if he is, there is no reason why the visitors can’t prevail. Let’s break down each of the three legs.
Packers -2.5 alternate spread (+102)
Neither team inspires a maximum amount of confidence, but recent returns and home-field advantage favor the Packers. They are coming off a massive win over the Bears, while the Cowboys were stunned by a previously winless Bucs squad. It just feels like the difference in defensive prowess is too much for Dallas to overcome. The visitors are pretty much hopeless on that side of the ball, while Green Bay ranks #8 overall in the NFL in that department. Adding insult to injury, or vice versa, CB Joey Porter Jr. (questionable) and LB DeMarvion Overshown (out) are on the Cowboys’ infirmary report. I will happily back the Pack to prevail by at least a field goal on Sunday night.
Jordan Love Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-179)
There is no need to overthink this one. Love has thrown exactly two touchdown passes in all five games so far this season, giving him a 10-to-3 TD-to-INT ratio. The Utah State product now faces a Cowboys pass defense that is among the worst in the business. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s squad is giving up 227.0 passing yards per game on 8.3 yards per attempt. It has surrendered 10 touchdowns through the air without snagging a single interception.
Javonte Williams Over 68.5 rushing yards (-114)
The Cowboys’ best defense is...well...keeping its defense off the field. That’s just how bad they are on that side of the ball. And the way to do it, of course, is by controlling the clock on offense. That’s the way to attack the Packers’ defense, too. Green Bay is awesome against the pass, ranking fifth in the NFL in that department while recording more interceptions (seven) than passing touchdowns allowed (six). However, Green Bay is only mediocre against the run. It is yielding 127.6 ground yards per contest on 4.1 yards per carry. Williams, who churned out 98 yards against Baltimore last month, should be in line for a resourceful outing.
