The greatest week of the year has officially arrived. Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season os finally upon us, and we've got a feast of football to get hyped up for. Kicking things off on Wednesday is a Super Bowl 60 rematch with Patriots vs Seahawks, before the NFL switches Down Under for 49ers vs Rams live on Netflix on Thursday. Then, we get into the juicy stuff, with a strong 13-game slate on Sunday, headlined by Cowboys vs Giants on SNF in a crunch NFC East matchup. The week concludes with a red-hot AFC West clash of Broncos vs Chiefs.

NFL Week 1 Early Best Bet: Atlanta Falcons +3.5 over Pittsburgh Steelers (-115)

Some may call me crazy, but I've got high hopes for the Atlanta Falcons this year. In fact, as you can see, I've already picked the Falcons to reach the NFL Playoffs! With that in mind, I'm taking them to get off to a solid start and at least keep things close when they travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers. Plenty have given up on him, but I've got faith that Tua Tagovailoa can turn things around and be serviceable for the Falcons. This is still a team that boasts Drake London and Kyle Pitts as receiving options, while also holding Bijan Robinson out of the backfield. A lot of the market is against Atlanta, so I'm happy to back my opinion and target them early in the season.
But as much as this play is about being big on the Falcons, it's also about being low on the Steelers. Pittsburgh has a ton to prove this year after firing Mike Tomlin at the end of last season after nearly two decades in charge. Still under center for the Steelers is Aaron Rodgers, although it's hard to fully read how bothered he still is about playing quarterback, given his focus elsewhere this summer. Mike McCarthy has tons of head coach experience and worked for years with Rodgers, but I still expect there to be some teething problems in the early going. The Steelers could win, but while this number is above a field goal, I'm all about the Falcons in this one.
