NFL Week 7 Early Best Bet: Las Vegas Raiders +5.5 over Los Angeles Rams (-105)

The Rams were Super Bowl favorites when this season began. Fast forward six weeks and they have to be worried about simply making the playoffs. At 2-4, it’s pretty much panic time in Los Angeles. Head coach Sean McVay’s team lost to lowly Arizona 18-16 at home this past Sunday, its second loss in a row and third in the last four games. Even with Puka Nacua back in action, the offense is struggling. The defense is without Myles Garrett (on injured reserve with a knee issue) and Trent McDuffie (out with a groin problem).

Will things get any better in Week 7? Maybe not. The Raiders have overachieved so far this season and will be playing this one at home. Kirk Cousins is quietly playing very good football, while the defense can send Maxx Crosby, Quay Walker and Nakobe Dean to get after 38-year-old quarterback Matthew Stafford. Las Vegas may be on a three-game skid, but two of the recent setbacks have come by three points against both Kansas City and Buffalo. In six appearances this year, the Raiders have lost by more than a field goal just once. I’m not saying they are going to win outright, but 5.5 points may be more than enough to cover.

We'll have NFL picks for every game in Week 7!
