Following several quarterfinal thrillers on Tuesday — including a five-set thriller that saw Ben Shelton edge Carlos Alcaraz in the latest finish in US Open history — more semifinal spots will be handed out on Wednesday, September 9. Among those taking the court are Alexander Zverev, Coco Gauff, Mirra Andreeva and Elena Rybakina. Here are the US Open best bets to be made on Day 11 in New York City as the quarterfinals roll on.

US Open Best Bet: Coco Gauff ML over Mirra Andreeva (-178)

Gauff is playing the best tennis of anyone in the women’s draw. And it’s not surprising, either. After all, the American captured the Cincinnati title last month, and did so by winning 12 consecutive sets along the way. She has not lost a single set so far at Flushing Meadows.

As if the task isn’t already daunting enough for Andreeva, Gauff has won all five of their previous meetings. The 22-year-old has taken 10 of their last 11 sets overall, including three by 6-1 scorelines.

US Open Best Bet: Karen Khachanov ML over Alexander Blockx (-159)

This is a rough situational spot for Blockx. He won’t complain about it, of course, because this is already a massive result for him even if he loses on Wednesday. However, it’s likely the end of the road. The 21-year-old Belgian was far less than 100 percent physically throughout his four-set victory over Francisco Cerundolo on Monday afternoon, dealing with some sort of upper-body injury in addition to a wrist problem. In fact, Blockx said afterward that he probably would have retired from the match if he had lost the third set.

Moreover, Khachanov owns a huge experience advantage. This is the Russian’s seventh Grand Slam quarterfinal appearance, and he was a US Open semifinalist in 2023. Blockx, on the other hand, had won just a single main-draw match at a major in his entire career prior to arriving in New York.

US Open Best Bet: Botic van de Zandschulp Under 8.5 double-faults vs Alexander Zverev (-150)

Van de Zandschulp has doubled 35 times so far during the U.S. Open. Admittedly, that is a horrible number. However, 16 of those came in one match (round three against Zizou Bergs). Other than that, the 30-year-old Dutchman has kept his double-faults to a somewhat reasonable number.

Even more importantly, this will probably be a short match. Zverev completely clobbered his last two opponents, whereas Van de Zandschulp is coming off back-to-back five-setters - including a five-hour and 15-minute marathon against Arthur Gea on Monday. Assuming he loses in relatively quick fashion, Van de Zandschulp simply may not have enough time to double more than eight times.
