Third-round action at Wimbledon continues on Friday, when Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff take the court. Djokovic and Joao Fonseca are 1 round away from a potential rematch of their epic showdown at the French Open, which Fonseca won in 5 sets. Let's take a look at the Wimbledon best bets to be made on Day 5 on Friday, July 3.

Wimbledon best bet: Naomi Osaka -1.5 sets over Daria Kasatkina (-140)

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook at the time of publishing. Playable to -150.

Daria Kasatkina likes clay far more than grass because of her serve, as she uses heavy topspin with her groundstrokes. It is simply a game that is not especially effective on the lawns. As for Naomi Osaka, she owns a 6-1 record on grass this summer, and her only loss came by retirement in the Bad Homburg title match. Yes, that means the 4-time Grand Slam champion has been borderline unbeatable when healthy. She is sweeping the head-to-head series against Kasatkina 3-0, including 6-1 in overall sets. The only time Osaka dropped a set to Kasatkina – which was at the 2025 US Open – she dominated the other 2 sets 6-0 and 6-3.

Wimbledon parlay: Joao Fonseca ML over Roman Safiullin and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina ML over Marton Fucsovics (-129)

Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing. Playable to -140.

Fonseca coasted into the 3rd round without dropping a single set while being pushed to only 1 tiebreaker. Roman Safiullin, on the other hand, needed 5th-set tiebreakers in each of his first 2 outings. Fatigue -- both mental and physical -- has to be a factor. Meanwhile, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina captured his first ATP title this past Saturday in Mallorca, and it has been full steam ahead for him at the All-England Club. Momentum has continued with straight-set victories over Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Fabian Marozsan, and he lost just 6 total games to Marozsan on Wednesday.

Wimbledon prediction: Shintaro Mochizuki +1.5 sets over Rafael Jodar (+125)

Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing. Playable to +100.

The surface is a massive factor in this matchup. Rafael Jodar, a recent Roland Garros quarterfinalist, would much rather face Shintaro Mochizuki on clay. Prior to this fortnight, the 19-year-old Spaniard had not played a single grass-court match in his professional career. Mochizuki, on the other hand, is 25-16 all-time on grass, and he also won the junior Wimbledon title in 2019. The 23-year-old beat both Max Basing and Ethan Quinn in straight sets earlier this week, and his last 2 sets against Basing were 6-0, 6-0. Jodar took a much more circuitous route, which required 5 sets to beat Pablo Carreno Busta. The University of Virginia product took a medical timeout for an apparent foot problem during the 4th set, too. There is a lot to like about Mochizuki in this matchup, perhaps even to win it outright.
