The third Grand Slam of the tennis season has arrived. As is tradition at Wimbledon, the opening Monday features the men’s singles defending champion playing the first match on Centre Court. That means Jannik Sinner will be in action, as he kicks off his title defense against Miomir Kecmanovic. Among those also taking the court are Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and Mirra Andreeva.

Let's take a look at the best bets to be made on Day 1 at Wimbledon.

Mirra Andreeva -1.5 sets over Magda Linette (-175)

Andreeva just won the first Grand Slam title of her career at the French Open and there is no reason to get off the bandwagon. Just because she is changing surfaces from clay to grass doesn’t mean she is about to slow down. The 19-year-old Russian has already proven that she can perform on the green stuff. Andreeva reached the Wimbledon fourth round in 2023 when she was only 16 years old and she made a run to the quarterfinals last season. Linette is a disappointing 39-41 all time on grass, whereas she owns a winning record – with a lot of room to spare – on every other surface.

Ignacio Buse ML over Emiliano Nava (-145)

Buse is playing by far the best tennis of his career this season, highlighted by an ATP 500 title on the clay of Hamburg last month. The 34th-ranked Peruvian has not played a whole lot on grass, but he at least managed to beat Marcos Giron at Queen's Club a couple of weeks ago and Stefanos Tsitsipas in Mallorca this past week. On this surface, Nava is by no means a more difficult opponent. The 87th-ranked American is a meager 5-8 all time on grass and he is 6-11 overall on the main tour this year (15-33 in his career). Nava just took a dreadful loss to Hamish Stewart in round 1 of Eastbourne qualifying.

Parlay: Learner Tien -1.5 sets over Dalibor Svrcina and Fabian Marozsan ML over Thiago Agustin Tirante (-125)

Tien is in outstanding form, as his clay-court swing included a title in Geneva and a third-round performance at the French Open. The left-hander does not have a ton of experience on grass, but his game style should work extremely well on this surface. He is facing an opponent in Svrcina who is 2-4 lifetime on grass. Meanwhile, Tirante has won 4 matches on grass in his entire career (and has lost 6). By comparison, he has won 202 on clay. The Argentine is the essence of a clay-court specialist who, like many others – just shows up at Wimbledon for a nice paycheck and for the enjoyment of playing at the most prestigious tournament in tennis. A capable grass-court player like Marozsan should win with ease. The Hungarian is coming off a semifinal result in Mallorca, where he lost to eventual champion Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a tight 3-set match.
