Second-round action at Wimbledon continues on Thursday, when Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek are among those taking the court. Rybakina could have a tough one on her hands against in-form American Caty McNally. However, there is value to be found elsewhere. Let's take a look at the Wimbledon best bets to be made on Day 4 on Thursday, July 2.

Wimbledon best bet: Matteo Berrettini +1.5 sets over Arthur Fils (-104)

Given that this is being played on grass and considering how little Arthur Fils has played in recent months, there is no way Matteo Berrettini should be this big of an underdog. He is a former Wimbledon finalist, after all. The Italian also advanced to the Roland Garros quarters this spring – and clay isn't even a particularly good surface for his game. Tuesday marked the first match Fils had played since May 9, as he has been dealing with a hip problem. This is also the first slam that he has played since the 2025 French Open. Fils did well to beat Raphael Collignon on Tuesday, but Berrettini is an entirely different customer on grass. Don’t be surprised if the underdog even wins this one outright.

Wimbledon prediction: Mariam Bolkvadze +5.5 games over Ashlyn Krueger (-118)

Mariam Bolkvadze should not be discounted on grass. The 28-year-old Georgian is 11-6 on the green stuff dating back to 2024. She has lots of momentum after winning 3 matches to qualify for the Wimbledon main draw and then upsetting Ajla Tomljanovic in round 1. Ashlyn Krueger also qualified. Of the 4 matches the American has won during this tournament, she has prevailed by more than a 4-game margin just once. That isn't surprising, as margins are often small with Krueger since she serves so well but returns so poorly.

Wimbledon parlay: Alexandra Eala ML over Maya Joint and Flavio Cobolli ML over James Duckworth (-144)

Maya Joint is a borderline automatic fade. The Aussie was an atrocious 3-15 for her 2026 campaign before getting a pretty much ideal match against 44-year-old Serena Williams, who had not played a singles match since the 2022 US Open. It was the biggest moment of Joint’s career (but not exactly an impressive win), so it will be hard for her to get right back in action only 2 days later. Moreover, Alexandra Eala dropped just 3 total games in her opening-round match.

Meanwhile, Flavio Cobolli required a 4th-set tiebreaker to beat Mariano Navone in round 1 – but the recent Roland Garros runner-up should wake up and improve dramatically for his next contest. The Italian was a quarterfinalist at the All-England Club last summer, so we know he can play on grass.
