Wimbledon Best Bets, Picks & Predictions for Wednesday, July 8, 2026, inc. Taylor Fritz vs Alexander Zverev

The quarterfinals at Wimbledon are off and running. An entertaining Tuesday saw Novak Djokovic outlast Felix Auger-Aliassime in a 5-set thriller after Coco Gauff defeated fellow American Jessica Pegula in 3 sets. What will Wednesday do for an encore? We will find out when Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Jasmine Paolini take the court. I am 18-9 on my picks for Wimbledon, so let’s keep the momentum going! Here are the Wimbledon best bets to be made on Day 10 at the All-England Club on Wednesday, July 8.

Wimbledon best bet: Marta Kostyuk vs Jasmine Paolini under 7.5 service breaks (-120)

Marta Kostyuk should win this quarterfinal contest – and it probably won’t be close. That would be ideal for this bet, of course, as neither player would have a chance to break serve a lot of times if the match is a short one. Paolini has actually done a nice job of holding her serve; she did not get broken a single time by Maria Sakkari in round 3 and then dropped serve a modest 3 times in a long 3-setter against Alexandra Eala. Just 1 of Kostyuk’s 4 Wimbledon matches has exceeded this 7.5 quota.

Wimbledon prediction: Flavio Cobolli -1.5 sets over Arthur Fery (-134)

Both physically and mentally, it’s hard to see Arthur Fery having much left in the tank. The little-known British wild card won each of his last 2 matches in 5th-set tiebreakers. He is playing well, but the competition level has not been strong (beating Grigor Dimitrov is a huge victory, but the Bulgarian is an injury-plagued 35-year-old who was coming off a 5-set match against Matteo Berrettini).

Meanwhile, Flavio Cobolli is red hot. The world #10 finished runner-up at Roland Garros last month and is now into a 2nd straight quarterfinal at the All-England Club after ousting world #6 Alex de Minaur in straight sets. Cobolli will likely win big.

Wimbledon pick: Taylor Fritz ML over Alexander Zverev (-110)

Fritz has every advantage in this matchup. He is dominating their head-to-head series 10-5 and has defeated Zverev an absurd 7 straight times. This streak began with a 5-set victory at Wimbledon in 2024 and includes 2 other wins on grass — 6-3, 7-6(0) in the 2025 Stuttgart final and 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-5 earlier this summer in Halle. Fritz has been more convincing this fortnight, too. He surrendered just 1 set en route to the quarterfinals.

Zverev, on the other hand, needed 4th-set tiebreakers against both Alexander Blockx and Jiri Lehecka. This is the German’s first Wimbledon quarterfinal appearance and he has never won an ATP title on grass. Fritz, by contrast, is an absolute master on this surface. The American is 34-6 on it over the past 3 seasons.
