MLB Picks Today: Expert Predictions & Best Bets for Tuesday, July 7, inc. Rockies vs Dodgers
The 2026 Major League Baseball season keeps rolling along with another loaded slate of games on Tuesday, July 7. The 16-game card includes a couple of fascinating matchups, including a showdown between the Yankees and Rays at 6:40 PM ET on TBS. The action gets underway at 2:10 PM ET with the first of 2 matchups between the Brewers and Cardinals as they contest a doubleheader. Let's break down my MLB best bets for Tuesday, July 7, while you can also find out our expert MLB picks for EVERY GAME today and throughout the entire 2026 campaign!
MLB best bet: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over Colorado Rockies (-125)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -130.
This is one of the biggest discrepancies in quality on the MLB board on Tuesday, and I'm not shying away from backing the 2-time defending champion Dodgers as heavy favorites at home. Justin Wrobleski will get the start for Los Angeles, and he should have little trouble setting down a Colorado lineup that is noticeably weaker away from the friendly confines of Coors Field. However, the real edge in this game is the Los Angeles offense against Michael Lorenzen and a Rockies bullpen that is ranked dead last in opposing batting average, earned runs allowed and WHIP, among others. The Dodgers have averaged well over 5 runs per game on the season, so I'll take the hosts on the run line in this one.

MLB best bet: Chicago Cubs vs Baltimore Orioles over 9.5 (+105)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to +100.
Neither of these starting pitchers inspires much confidence, and that plays into my bet on this interleague matchup. On one side, the Cubs' offense has been up-and-down this season, but Chicago still boasts an above-average unit at the plate, and it will have the added benefit of taking on Shane Baz (4.48 xERA, bottom 25% xBA, whiff rate and ground-ball rate) in this one. I have a hard time seeing Baz and the mediocre Orioles bullpen slowing down the Cubs' bats, and the same should be said for Baltimore's lineup against Cubs starter Matthew Boyd, who holds a 5.08 ERA and has a whopping 51.8% hard-hit rate, among the worst in the majors. All things considered, I'll take the over at Camden Yards on Tuesday.
