The massive 15-game card includes a number of fascinating matchups, including a showdown between the Reds and Brewers at 7:40 PM ET. The action gets underway at 6:40 PM ET with a matchup involving the White Sox and Orioles.

MLB best bet: Cincinnati Reds vs Milwaukee Brewers Over 8.5 (-120)

The Brewers took the first game of this NL Central series, and while I lean toward backing Milwaukee in this matchup, I'm much more inclined to look at the total on Tuesday. Cincinnati is not known for its pitching, and Rhett Lowder just struggled against the Brewers in his last outing. There's no reason to expect that to change in this one, especially since Milwaukee boasts one of the best lineups in the game and has fared well against Lowder in recent meetings. On the other side, Milwaukee is running out Brandon Sproat, who currently holds a 5.47 ERA and is walking approximately 4 batters per 9 innings. Sproat's advanced metrics are nothing to write home about, which points me in the direction of a higher-scoring affair in this one.

MLB best bet: New York Yankees ML over Detroit Tigers (-135)

An American League showdown highlights the early slate on Friday, with the Tigers and Yankees squaring off in a game that features a couple of the best pitchers in baseball. Tarik Skubal is back at the top of the Tigers rotation following 5 weeks away from the field, but it hasn't been a smooth return to the mound for the left-hander, as Skubal has struggled in his recent outings since returning from the injured list. This included an outing against the Yankees on June 24, in which he surrendered 4 earned runs, including 3 home runs in a loss. Conversely, the Yankees are countering with Cam Schlittler, a phenom who is the AL Cy Young favorite at the moment. Schlittler has allowed 1 or fewer runs in 8 of his last 10 outings, and he should be in a position to succeed against a Tigers lineup that is a below average unit (20th in OPS, 23rd in OBP). I'll lay the juice with the home team.
