MLB Picks Today: Expert Predictions & Best Bets for Wednesday, June 3, inc. Dodgers vs Diamondbacks
The 2026 Major League Baseball season continues with another loaded slate of games on Wednesday. The 15-game card includes a couple of hot showdowns, including a matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers to close out the night at 9:40 pm ET. The action gets underway at 1:05 pm ET between the Marlins and Nationals.

MLB best bet: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over Arizona Diamondbacks (-110)

It has been a season to forget for Diamondbacks starter Zac Gallen to this point, as he currently holds a 5.16 ERA and has allowed 27 runs over his last 6 outings. Needless to say, his life won't get any easier on Wednesday against this elite Dodgers lineup. Night after night, it seems as if there's a new hero for Los Angeles, and the Dodgers have made a habit of putting up plenty of runs in late innings to pull away from its opponents this season. As a team, the Dodgers are averaging well over 5 runs per game -- which speaks to how difficult it is to hold down a lineup of this caliber for a full 9 innings.
As for Arizona, the Diamondbacks have been slightly better than expected to this point, and they were very competitive in both games against the Dodgers in this series. However, that momentum at the plate likely won't continue against Shohei Ohtani, who holds an incredible 0.82 ERA with just 0.3 home runs allowed per 9 innings and 10 strikeouts per 9 innings. Once Ohtani is out of the game, the Los Angeles bullpen has been clicking on all cylinders over the last month, which doesn't bode well for Arizona in its quest to keep this one close. The Diamondbacks have their work cut out for them, and Gallen will likely have to be brilliant in order for Arizona to stay in this game and keep things close heading into the late innings. Let's back the Dodgers to win by margin on Wednesday.
MLB best bet: New York Yankees ML over Cleveland Guardians (-145)

These are two of the best teams in the American League and it wouldn't shock me if they meet again in the postseason this October. Cleveland took the series opener on Tuesday, but the Yankees should be in position to bounce back with Gerrit Cole on the mound at home. To his credit, Cole has been absolutely nails since returning from injury on May 22, as the Yankees ace has tossed nearly 13 scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts over his first 2 outings. He should continue to see success against a Guardians lineup that is 22nd in runs per game on the season and doesn't have much in the way of power. On the other side, Gavin Williams will get the ball for Cleveland and while he is in the midst of a strong season to this point, the right-hander has struggled against the Yankees over the course of his career, going 1-1 with a 5.54 ERA in 3 outings against New York. Even without the services of Aaron Judge, the Yankees lineup should have more than enough to give Cole a lead at home, and the right-hander should do the rest.
