Reds vs Twins Pickswise Expert Predictions

Money Line Pick
MIN Twins Win(-125)

The Minnesota Twins look to avoid being swept in Game 3 of a weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds. Bailey Ober (5.49 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) takes the bump for the hosts, while Brady Singer (5.60 ERA, 1.70 WHIP) gets the start for Cincinnati. Both starting pitchers are posting relatively similar numbers thus far, though Singer falls in the 5th percentile or worse in pitching run value and xBA. A 5.50 xERA mark is somewhat concerning, especially considering the offense hasn’t provided much run support when racing right-handed pitching.

The Reds currently rank dead last in MLB with a 72 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, posting the lowest batting average vs RHP (.205) as well. The Reds have been able to lean on their bullpen this season, but Cincinnati has used 9 relief pitchers through the first 2 games of this series, and the unit isn’t exactly well-rested entering this one. Minnesota should be able to keep its momentum up on offense against Singer as the Twins rank top-10 in wRC+ over the last 7 days. I’ll take the Twins to win this one outright.
