Cleveland Guardians vs Kansas City Royals Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/04/26

While not my favorite game from a betting perspective, I do lean toward the over on the posted game total in Monday’s matchup between the Cleveland Guardians and the Kansas City Royals. Neither offense has been crushing right-handed pitching this season, but hitting conditions are favorable for the bats in this spot. With temperatures in the high-70s and wind blowing out around 10 MPH, Kauffman Stadium could be receptive to runs on Monday. 

Michael Wacha has a 3.13 ERA through 37.1 innings of work so far in 2026. Still, his 4.55 xERA is a bit worrisome. He has a walk rate and barrel rate each over 9% — and as a fly-ball pitcher, I do worry about this spot today. Wacha has surrendered a home run in 3 straight starts and 4 of his last 5 outings. Tanner Bibee has a 4.08 ERA and 4.28 xERA in 35.1 innings of work. While serviceable, Bibee has not been amazing this season. He ranks 11th percentile with his 48.6% hard-hit rate allowed; he, too, is walking over 9% of batters. Bobby Witt Jr. and Vinnie Pasquantino also have a terrific history against Bibee, so their props may be worth a glance.
