Cleveland Guardians vs Kansas City Royals Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/05/26

The Cleveland Guardians continue a series against the division-rival Kansas City Royals on Tuesday, and they’re looking to bounce back after a 6-2 loss in the opener Monday behind RHP Tanner Bibee. The offense has been Jekyll and Hyde lately, scoring a total of 22 runs in back-to-back games against the A’s on May 1-2, but three or fewer runs in six of the past eight outings. The Guards turn to RHP Gavin Williams to get the job done on Tuesday. He was on the bump in a 3-1 win against Tampa Bay to close out a homestand April 29 in his last start, and Cleveland has won six in a row with him on the mound, including a 2-1 win over the Royals on April 7 at Progressive Field.

The Royals streak in with four consecutive victories after the win over the Guardians, as well as a weekend sweep in Seattle. Kansas City pitching has allowed just five runs in the past three games, and Kansas City is 8-2 in the past 10 games since April 24. However, the Royals won just once in three tries in Cleveland, and facing Williams will be a tall order. He has pitched well for the Guardians. Look for Cleveland to even up the series.
