Tigers vs White Sox Pickswise Expert Predictions

Game Totals Pick
Under 8.0(-120)

The Tigers and White Sox are set to close out their 3-game weekend series on Sunday afternoon at Rate Field. Chicago is looking for a sweep after taking the first 2 games, while Detroit is trying to find any sort of positivity. The Tiger offense is in a major rut right now, as they have scored just 2.9 runs per game over their last 10 contests. The month of May has been especially tough, as the Tigers’ 80 total runs this month are the fewest in all of baseball. Furthermore, Detroit ranks 29th in batting average (.207) and last in OPS (.600) this month. No matter how you slice it, this is a Detroit offense that cannot be trusted to do major damage on a day-in, day-out basis.

The Tigers will send right-hander Keider Montero to the mound, and while he hasn’t been spectacular of late, he’s holding opposing hitters to a .203 batting average on the road. The White Sox don’t hit righties as well as lefties, as their team OPS drops from .783 against southpaws to .713 against right-handers. Chicago gave Detroit left-hander Framber Valdez some problems in Saturday’s contest, but facing the right-handed Montero could be a different story. In what is a getaway day for both teams, look to the under in this AL Central matchup.
