Royals vs Reds Pickswise Expert Predictions

Money Line Pick
KC Royals Win(+105)

The Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds face off with a pair of lefties taking the mound; Noah Cameron (4.61 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) starts for KC while Andrew Abbott (3.88 ERA, 1.42 WHIP) starts for the hosts. Both pitchers are pushing a 5.00 xERA and both hold exactly a .278 xBA which falls in the 22nd percentile among all starters. Despite a few early-season woes, Cameron has turned things around for the better as of late with two quality starts in his last three appearances.

While the Royals’ offense hasn’t had much to write home about this season, Kansas City is coming off a 9-run performance last night and should find relative success against this Reds pitching staff. Abbott has had a roller coaster of a season and enters this matchup with one of the worst bullpens in baseball ready in relief, a bullpen that tossed a combined 163 pitches in Monday’s matchup. With all things considered, I’ll fade the Reds pitching staff and back Kansas City to win this one outright at a plus-money price.

Royals vs Reds prediction: Royals ML (+105) at time of publishing. Playable to –115.
