Angels vs Blue Jays Pickswise Expert Predictions

Money Line Pick
TOR Blue Jays Win(-105)

The Toronto Blue Jays exploded offensively in Saturday’s win over the Los Angeles Angels, putting up 14 runs on 20 hits, and they’ll look to carry that momentum into Sunday as they go for the series sweep. Toronto is expected to lean on its bullpen in this matchup, with Spencer Miles likely making his first start of the season. Miles enters with a 1-0 with a 3.50 ERA this season. For the Angels, Jose Soriano will get the nod, entering at 5-2 with a 1.74 ERA. Soriano has struggled in his last two starts, going 0-2 and has allowed eight runs on 14 hits across nine innings pitched.

Offensively, Toronto is averaging five runs per game and hitting .266 in their last 10 games, while the Angels are averaging 2.5 runs per game and hitting .220. Another concern for the Angels is their bullpen, which owns one of the worst ERAs in baseball at 5.42. Los Angeles has also used their bullpen quite a bit over the last two games, which could become a major issue if Soriano runs into trouble early. Toronto’s bullpen hasn’t been elite, but it’s been noticeably more reliable than the Angels, posting a 4.08 ERA. Knowing that Soriano has struggled against the White Sox in back-to-back games, I don’t trust him in this matchup against Toronto. The Blue Jays have a significantly better offense than Chicago, and even though Toronto is going to rely on their bullpen in this matchup, I still like them to get the job done at home as they’ve been the better team offensively.

Angels vs Blue Jays prediction: Blue Jays ML (-105) at the time of publishing. Playable up to -125.
