Dodgers vs Rockies Pickswise Expert Predictions

Run Line Pick
LA Dodgers Win -1.5(-170)

The Los Angeles Dodgers haven’t looked like themselves in this series, dropping back-to-back games to the Rockies despite putting up strong offensive numbers. Both teams had 15 hits in yesterday’s matchup, but the Dodgers failed to get runners across home plate as they stranded 10 runners on the base path. Today, the Dodgers will look to split the series as they send the left-hander Justin Wrobleski to the mound who is 2-0 with a 2.12 ERA through three starts this season. For the Rockies, they’ll send the southpaw Jose Quintana to the mound who is 0-1 with a 5.63 ERA.

The Dodgers are one of the best hitting teams in all of baseball this season, leading the league in OPS (.857), 2nd in runs per game (5.8), 1st in home runs (37), and 2nd in hits (207). The Rockies on the other hand, they’re 17th in OPS (.696), 22nd in runs scored (4.0), 14th in home runs (22), and 12th in hits (177). The Dodgers have the edge on the mound with Wrobleski, and offensively, but the Rockies have the edge in the bullpen with a 3.17 ERA compared to the Dodgers 3.92. Despite losing back-to-back games, the Dodgers have been right there offensively this series. Quintana has struggled to find his groove in his first two starts of the season, plus he’s not a big strike out pitcher. The Dodgers will work up his pitch count and take advantage early on against the lefty, and then will look to take advantage of a tired Rockies bullpen. I expect the Dodgers to bounce back in a big way in today’s matchup behind Wrobleski.

Dodgers vs Rockies prediction: Dodgers -1.5 (-170) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
