Los Angeles Dodgers vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/03/26

The St. Louis Cardinals are winners of 6 in a row after a 4-game sweep in Pittsburgh and now 2 games against the Dodgers. Meanwhile, Los Angeles has lost 4 in a row after a series loss to Miami and now another to the Cardinals. They will look to avoid the sweep on Sunday, and I am backing them to do so. 

Justin Wrobleski is the scheduled starter for the Dodgers in this game, as he is set to make his 6th appearance of the season. The southpaw hurler has stepped up in a big way for this Dodgers rotation, posting a 1.50 ERA through 30 innings of work. He recorded just 15 strikeouts in that sample, but a WHIP under 1 and 0 home runs allowed for Wrobleski is about as good as it gets. His batted-ball metrics are quality, and his 3.15 FIP is a strong mark.

Dustin May is set to make his 7th start of the season for St. Louis. His first 2 starts were very poor, allowing 13 earned runs to the Rays and Tigers. However, he has bounced back nicely with just 5 earned runs allowed across his last 4 outings combined. His 4.07 xERA and 3.87 FIP are better than his 5.28 ERA, but May is still not my preferred starter in this game. Los Angeles is 3rd in wOBA against right-handed pitching, and I favor them to avoid the sweep at current pricing.
