New York Mets vs Colorado Rockies Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/07/26

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that Coors Field is a hitter-friendly ballpark, and the total for Thursday’s matchup between the Colorado Rockies and the New York Mets is high. Not only is it a tough environment to pitch in, but both starting pitchers have glaring concerns entering this game.

Jose Quintana is coming off back-to-back strong outings, tossing 11.1 combined innings with just 2 earned runs allowed. One of those starts came against this Mets lineup, however, and now he is tasked with a close proximity rematch in Coors. Quintana is also due for regression as his 4.07 ERA is shadowed by a 5.31 xERA and 6.30 FIP. 

Christian Scott is my preferred starter in this matchup because of his strikeout upside, but this will be the right-hander’s first time taking on Coors Field. It can be a tough setting for any arm, especially someone who issues free passes as often as Scott does. Colorado has also been better against right-handed pitching this season than against lefties.
