San Diego Padres vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/12/26

The San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers begin a series on Tuesday night, and both teams enter this matchup on a winning streak. The Padres won the last two of the series against the Cardinals over the weekend, while the Brewers swept the mighty Yankees and have won 4 in a row. If you are a fan of either team, it is tough to find much to complain about, unless it is the total lack of homers so far from Tatis. Otherwise, these teams are playing well, and picking a winner in this one is tough. I have this game pretty much even, so I am taking the Padres at plus money.

The pitching matchup is dicey. Matt Waldron will go for the Padres. He has a bloated ERA, but he was great in his last outing as he worked behind an opener. The knuckleballer is a pain to hit. The Brew Crew will hand the ball to Brandon Sproat. He, too, has an ugly ERA. Sproat does not give his team a lot of innings, typically, which puts more stress on the bullpens. Both bullpens, of course, are strong, so getting that early lead is important. I like what I saw from Waldron in his last outing, and when he is right, he is a tough at bat. I will lean toward the Padres in the series opener.
