Mariners vs Cardinals Pickswise Expert Predictions

Money Line Pick
SEA Mariners Win(-150)

It’s time for some Saturday afternoon baseball as the Seattle Mariners and St. Louis Cardinals meet again after a quick turnaround from Friday night’s matchup where Seattle picked up a 3-2 win. As the Mariners look to keep inching back to .500, they’ll be in a favorable spot this afternoon to pick up another victory. Taking the mound for the Mariners will be Bryan Woo who is 1-2 with a 2.25 ERA through five starts this season. For the Cardinals, the lefty Matthew Liberatore will get the nod, who enters with a 0-1 record and a 3.67 ERA.

Seattle struggled offensively to begin the season, but the bats have shown some improvement lately. In their last 10 games, the Mariners are hitting .248 and averaging 3.5 runs per game. As for the Cardinals, they’re slightly better hitting .239 and averaging 4.8 runs per game. Looking at it a little bit further, the Mariners have three players Liberatore needs to be careful pitching to – Julio Rodriguez who is hitting .348 in his last six games, Randy Arozarena with a .304 batting average, and Cal Raleigh who is hitting .292. As for the Cardinals, Bryan Woo will need to keep a close eye on Masyn Winn as he’s been red hot batting .476 in his last five games, followed by Ivan Herrera who is hitting .292 in his last six. Looking at everything, the Mariners have the better starter in this matchup, a slightly hotter hitting lineup, and they have a much better bullpen as they hold a 3.44 ERA compared to the Cardinals 5.17. Overall, this will likely be a low scoring battle like last night, but I like for Seattle to get it done once again.

Mariners vs Cardinals prediction: Mariners ML (-150) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
