Nationals vs Mets Pickswise Expert Predictions

Game Totals Pick
Over 7.5(-120)

The Washington Nationals face the New York Mets on Tuesday to open a series. The Nationals took 2 of 3 from the White Sox over the weekend, and they are inching closer to the .500 mark. And you know about the Mets and their disastrous April. They spent the weekend getting swept by the Rockies. At home. And they only scored 4 runs all weekend. This team is such a mess. Every day, I look at the Mets and think “surely things will get right today,” but they never do. And yet somehow they are constantly priced as massive, unplayable favorites. Still, I can’t back the Nats tonight, so give me the game total over 7.5.

I cannot back the Nationals tonight because Zack Littell is on the mound. Littell has given up 14 runs in his last 2 starts. Yikes. The Mets, however, refuse to score. They have only exceeded 3 runs one time in their last 8 games. If they can’t score tonight against Littell and one of the league’s worst bullpens, then I guess they will just never score. Clay Holmes will start for New York, and he has been a rare steady performer for the Mets. The Nats tend to hit though, and their young bats should scratch out a few tonight. This total is too low, I think. I’ll take the over.

Nationals vs Mets Prediction: Over 7.5 (-120) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
