Looking at the current 2020 MLB World Series odds, three teams jump out as the best bets to make. Let’s take a look at the three best World Series bets to make before the first pitch in 2020.

Los Angeles Dodgers +325

Everything is lining up for the Los Angeles Dodgers to lift the commissioner’s trophy for the first time in 32 years. Los Angeles along with New York currently have the best rosters in the league, but I lean with the Dodgers as they have an easier path to the WS. As seen in the past years, the Dodgers path to the final series has been rather easy and should be once again if they continue to be one of the best. Plus the addition of David Price and Mookie Betts could be the final piece of the Dodgers championship puzzle. With a potentially shorten season, this gives veteran Clayton Kershaw the perfect road to succeed. It’s time to win now for Los Angeles especially after the whole Houston Astros scandal. Now to show who the true champions are.

New York Mets +2000

Speaking of pitching on a shortened season, it could also favor the New York Mets. They enter the 2020 campaign with one of the best rotations with the likes of NL Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Marcus Stroman. They also have lefty Steven Matz who can come in and easily shut a game out. With the additions of Michael Wacha and Rick Porcello, this pitching core is ready to unleash on the NL. The pitching will be the key for New York as the offense is made by the 2019 NL Rookie of the Year Pete Alonso, who finished with 53 home runs last season.

Tampa Bay Rays +2200

A longshot value here as the Tampa Bay Rays enter the best bets. Remember, a season ago the Rays finished with 96 wins but were severely overshadowed by the New York Yankees. There is huge potential here as they nearly took out the Houston Astros but were unable to in a decisive game five in the Division Series. As stated above in the Dodgers best bet preview, could the Astros scandal play a role in that game five? Even though they are in the same division as the Yankees, if they can take down the giants, they could have a clear path to the final series. With both starting pitcher James Paxton missing time due to injury and Domingo German due to a 63-game suspension, New York will have to work to be the best in the AL East. On the topic of starting pitchers, Tampa Bay has a unit with Charlie Morton, Blake Snell, and Tyler Glasnow. Those three could easily make a strong run for Tampa Bay in the playoffs. This is a huge longshot bet that could play in our favor down the road.
