Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 107 wins and 83 losses for a gain of +17.7 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Saturday.

Jordan Lyles (BAL) over 5.5 hits allowed (-135)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Jordan Lyles is no stranger to us. We have faded him countless times especially against high-powered offenses like the Minnesota Twins.

Lyles has allowed a whopping 97 hits through 15 starts. That’s tied for the 2nd most behind Washington Nationals pitcher Patrick Corbin. On the road Lyles allows over 1.2 hits per inning.

The top of this Twins’ lineup is headlined by A.L. batting average leader Luis Arraez, superstar Byron Buxton, and World Series champion, Carlos Correa. As a team, the Twins hit over .260 against right-handed pitching in June, which ranked 4th in baseball.

Lyles has an extremely long leash. He averages over 95 pitches per game and is looked at as the Orioles’ ace. We can expect 6.0 innings from Lyles, but it will come to the expense of getting hit around. He has allowed at least 5 hits in every start this season and at 6 hits in 10 of 15.
