I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. We’ve got a strong 10-game slate of NHL action tonight, which means plenty of opportunities for profit. After breaking down the overall matchups, we have a +713 NHL mega parlay for all the action, so be sure to check that out. Along with that great payout, we can also target specific players within all of the games going tonight. It’s not often we pinpoint 2 skaters that are on the road, but there’s great value with their matchups. Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Let’s take a closer look at my 2 favorite player props.

Matthew Tkachuk over 1.5 points (+160)

Matthew Tkachuk is a skater who was very profitable for us last season, and likely will be this year too. He came over to the Florida Panthers from the Calgary Flames this offseason in a trade involving Jonathan Huberdeau. Joining a Panthers team that averaged the most goals per game in the NHL last season should only allow Tkachuk to have an even more impressive year. His 104 points were the 6th-most in the league last season, so he’s no stranger to multi-point games.

He’s already proven to be a perfect fit with his new team, as he’s leading the Panthers with 8 points so far on the season. It’s clear that Florida trusts him to take control when he’s on the ice, as he also leads the team with 29 shots on goal. That’s also tied for the 6th-most in the entire NHL, and he’s averaging over 20 minutes of ice time per game. Tkachuk has also feasted on the Chicago Blackhawks. He faced them 3 times with the Flames last season, and recorded multiple points in 2 of those games. Chicago has only gotten worse and doesn’t even have a true starting goaltender, so expect a big night from Tkachuk and the Panthers.

Kirill Kaprizov over 1.5 points (+130)

We’ve got the same bet type for your second play with another skater on the road. Kirill Kaprizov is another guy who was great for us last season, and he too already has 8 points in the young season. He and the Minnesota Wild will have to travel up to Montreal to take on the Canadiens. The Habs are again in last place after having the NHL’s worst record last season. A primary reason for their terrible year was them allowing the most goals per game in the league.

They did nothing to address their goaltending room in the offseason, so it should be no surprise that they just allowed 5 goals at home to the Dallas Stars. That’s a rather defensive team, and Kaprizov led the Wild to being one of the most offensive teams in the NHL last year. They’re just as potent this season, in part due to Kaprizov looking to eclipse his 108 points from last season. That was the 4th-most in the league, and he cashed this prop the first time he faced Montreal last year. With Montreal looking like just as great of a matchup, Kaprizov should cruise through the Canadiens tonight.
