Best player prop for Friday's MLB slate: Wells Ks Rangers

Alexander Wells MLB player prop

This time of year is all about smashing randos. I’ve always been a big fan of it and I probably always will be. It’s fun. If you think about it, we actually have the advantage in the MLB player prop market. Teams are calling up guys that nobody really knows and they let them pitch way deeper into games than they would in a competitive situation. Last night it was Glenn Otto, the night before it was Joe Ryan. How about #52 for the Orioles (#1 in our hearts though), Alexander Wells, tonight?

Besides this article, you should definitely check out our experts’ picks on all of the MLB action today. It’s just a smart thing to do. Also, bets can be added to the card, so why not follow me on Twitter in case we get some last-second action? Once lineups are announced for some of these games, there is a chance for opportunity to knock. You should be there to answer it.

Alexander Wells over 3.5 strikeouts (+105)

Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

DraftKings is the undisputed champion of the MLB player prop market. They come correct day in and day out with lines before I even get out of bed. It doesn’t matter if the guy is Max Scherzer or some rando, there is a number for him. That’s all the people want.

Let me tell you a little bit about Alexander Wells. He’s only 24 and he’s #52 for the Orioles. He wears the sport glasses when he’s on the hill, so props to him for that. Wells is definitely not a strikeout guy but that’s okay since his number is only 3.5. He hasn’t hit this number in 3 September starts, but he’s hovering at 3 Ks and he’s ready to break through at some point soon.

This kid needs the right opponent and he’s getting them tonight. The Texas Rangers are in town and they are perfect for a guy like Wells who just needs to throw 80+ pitches. That many pitches against the Rangers is like 150+ against the last 3 teams Wells pitched against (Royals, Yankees, Red Sox). They’ve struck out 71 times in their last 229 at-bats, which is not good. Their OPS of .532 is worst in the MLB over the last week. At plus-money, this rando needs to be smashed.

This is my favorite MLB player prop of the day.
