Best player prop for Tuesday's MLB All-Star Game: Bombs away

Juan Soto MLB player props

I don’t know about you but I’m betting the MLB All-Star Game. There are those that say it’s dumb to do so but here’s what I say – it’s dumb not to bet the game. You’re telling me we’re supposed to watch an entire baseball game and not have action? That’s crazy talk. The All-Star game is fun and everyone knows that if you want to make a game even more fun, you bet it. That’s just a little thing called science. We’re not getting much in the way of MLB player props, but there are still ways to get involved that feel exotic. Here’ what I have in mind.

On top of this article, you should definitely check out our experts’ pick on the MLB All-Star Game side and total.  As always, bets can always be added to the card today, so why not follow me on Twitter in case we get some last-second action? It just makes sense.

This article has been edited to reflect that only five Home Run Derby contestants will play in the All-Star Game tonight

Will a HR Derby contestant hit a home run? Yes (+175)

I wanted to take a side but that feels crazy. Of the last 23 MLB All-Star Games, the AL has won 19 of them. I don’t know if that really means anything but I think the NL wins tonight. Bucking that trend doesn’t seem fun especially at -120. It looks like an invitation to go to MLB player prop land.

The last time the ASG was played at Coors Field was 1998 and it ended 13-8, so if you want to go with each teams’ total over 5.5 +105, that’s an option. It’s not that crazy. Of course everyone was juicing back then, but still. Those two bets combined equals fun. There’s no argument there, but I still prefer a +150 or higher move. Preferably a MLB player prop.

Now I hate taking guys to hit a dinger but we should let go of the hate for tonight. There’s plenty of hate already in this world, why add to it? Plus, we’re getting five guys to hit a dong tonight, so there is that.

Between Joey Gallo, Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, Salvador Perez, and Matt Olson, we should get a dinger. Gallo went yard in the 2019 game, and Perez drilled one in the 2016 contest so we have pedigree in our stable. And after last night, I’d be shocked if one of these guys doesn’t hit a home run tonight. At +175, this is a fun one.
