Following an eventful Wild Card Weekend, we’re onto the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs — which means the Ravens and 49ers will be back on the field after a bye week. Over in the NFC, the matchup that is expected to be more competitive does not involve the No. 1 seed. Following the Lions narrow victory over the Rams last weekend, they now have set up a matchup with the Buccaneers in Detroit on Saturday for a chance to go to the NFC Championship Game. I’ve taken a look at the anytime touchdown scorer market and have 2 picks to lock in for this NFC matchup.

The Pickswise team has been absolutely on fire with their touchdown scorer prop picks throughout this 2023 NFL campaign, so let’s keep the momentum going! Here are my best TD scorer bets for Sunday’s game, and also be sure to check out our full NFL predictions for the Divisional Round.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, DET (+105 at FanDuel)

The Lions are closing in on their first NFC Championship Game appearance in ages, and I expect Dan Campbell and company to lean on their strengths in order to do so. The fact of the matter is this game will be played in a dome, which is the perfect setting for Jared Goff and this Lions passing attack.

Goff is a noticeably better QB indoors, particularly once the weather gets cold this time of year, and we saw him light up the Rams a week ago in a high-pressure environment. In steps Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has thrived in the WR1 role as Goff’s top target. St. Brown has 11 touchdowns on the season, with 5 of those TD receptions coming indoors. He just hauled in 7 receptions for 110 yards and I’d expect a similar target share coming his way with so much on the line. It helps that Tampa Bay’s defense blitzes at an extremely high rate, so Goff can be expected to get the ball out quickly in the red zone. I expect St. Brown to be Goff’s first read on multiple red-zone snaps, so let’s take this number at plus money.

Chris Godwin, WR, TB (+225 at DraftKings)

While I see the Lions having plenty of success on offense, the same can be said for Tampa Bay on the other side of the ball — particularly in the passing game. Detroit was just shredded by Matthew Stafford and the Rams through the air last week, particularly when Stafford targeted Puka Nacua, his second option. Now with Mike Evans getting the WR1 looks on Sunday, Baker Mayfield should turn his attention to Chris Godwin — who will have a very favorable matchup against Kindle Vildor or Stephen Gilmore. Being indoors should help the Buccaneers downfield passing game and it’s likely that Tampa Bay will have a pass-heavy game script in a game in which they are also more likely to be trailing than leading. At this number, I can’t pass up a chance to bet on Godwin.
