It’s a busy Wednesday in basketball, headlined by an NBA double-header on ESPN. It features Milwaukee vs Miami and Portland vs Golden State, while New York, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Boston and the Clippers are on the schedule, as well. The NHL also has more than a few games on offer, and Week 14 in the NFL is on the immediate horizon.

Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far on Wednesday.

NBA: Denver Nuggets -2.5 over New Orleans Pelicans

Bettors’ favorite play of the day in the NBA is on Denver to cover the spread against New Orleans. A total of 89 percent of the handle and 94 percent of the wagers are going toward the visitors -2.5. There is also a lot of enthusiasm on the Nuggets’ money line, with only -130 juice being incurred. They are being backed by 96 percent of the money and 64 percent of the bets to win straight up.

NBA: Brooklyn Nets ML over Houston Rockets

The public is also hoping for an outright win by the Nets, who are visiting the lowly Rockets. Brooklyn is a heavy -260 favorite to take care of business, but that juice isn’t scaring away many bettors. They are throwing 98 percent of the money and 95 percent of the wagers at Kevin Durant and company. As for the -6.5 point spread, the Nets are drawing 95 percent of the handle and 80 percent of the wagers.

NHL: Boston Bruins ML over Vancouver Canucks

The NHL team inspiring the most confidence on Wednesday night is Boston, which is paying a visit to Vancouver. On the -155 money line, the Bruins are bringing in 62 percent of the money and 86 percent of the bets. Punters are more conflicted about giving the 1.5 goals, as just 45 percent of the handle is being thrown at Boston -1.5 but 75 percent of the wagers are going in that direction.

NHL: Colorado Avalanche vs New York Rangers Over 6

The public is certainly hoping for a high-scoring affair when Colorado visits New York. A total of 99 percent of the money and 83 percent of the bets are on Over 6. Bettors are also like the Avalanche a fair amount. The Avs are inspiring 86 percent of the handle on the -1.5 puck line and 62 percent of the wagers on the -145 money line.

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -3 over Buffalo Bills

Looking ahead to the upcoming week in the NFL, bettors’ favorite play is on Tampa Bay to cover the -3 spread against visiting Buffalo. Both 84 percent of the handle and 84 percent of the wagers are backing the Bucs. They are also getting hammered on the -170 money line to the tune of 75 percent of the handle and 77 percent of the bets.

I am all over the Bucs, as well. They have won three in a row and both Tom Brady and Leonard Fournette are in fine form for an offense that is rolling. The Bills are playing on a short week following Monday’s weather-impacted 14-10 loss to New England. They have now lost four of their last seven games since beginning the season 4-1.
