Before March Madness takes center stage once again on Thursday (first four) and then to an even greater extent on this weekend, the NBA and NHL will share the spotlight early this week. Nine games or on the NBA schedule for Monday, while the NHL offers a 10-game slate.

Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far when it comes to tonight’s action.

NBA: Charlotte Hornets -3.5 over Sacramento Kings

Per Draft Kings, bettors are all over the Charlotte Hornets as they prepare to host the Sacramento Kings on Monday. A whopping 90 percent of the money to go along with 83 percent of the bets are coming in on the Hornets -3.5. Charlotte on the money line is a trendy play, as well, with 90 percent of the handle and 75 percent of the wagers tipping the home team to win straight up.

NBA: Denver Nuggets ML over Indiana Pacers

Punters are also hammering the Denver Nuggets in their home game against the Indiana Pacers. With 78 percent of the bets coming in on Denver’s money line (-180), 80 percent of the money is going in that direction. The public is not as eager to give the 4.5 points, as only 54 percent of the handle and 66 percent of the bets are on the Nuggets ATS.

We feel good about both the Hornets and the Nuggets on Monday, as well. You should be happy to give the 4.5 points with Denver, too, as this team is far superior to Indiana at the moment. Caris LeVert has a game under his belt for the Pacers, but it’s not like they a well-oiled machine having just now implemented him into the lineup.

NHL: Vegas Golden Knights -1.5 over San Jose Sharks

Bettors’ favorite NHL play of the day is the Vegas Golden Knights against the San Jose Sharks. An overwhelming 92 percent of the handle in addition to 75 percent of the wagers are coming in on Vegas’ -1.5 puck line. They also love the money line (-235), with 77 percent of the money and 89 percent of the wagers backing the Golden Knights to win straight up.

NHL: Vancouver Canucks ML over Ottawa Senators

In the eyes of the public, perhaps the next-best play is on the Vancouver Canucks against the Ottawa Senators. The money line (-177) on Vancouver is drawing 91 percent of the money and 80 percent of the bets. As for the -1.5 puck line, although a modest 57 percent are on the Canucks a much more convincing 82 percent of the handle is on the favorites.

We are certainly behind the public with this play. In fact, we will happily give the 1.5 goals; it is one of our best bets of the day in the NHL.

NCAAB: Texas Tech Red Raiders -5 over Utah State Aggies

Taking an early look ahead to the NCAA Tournament, one of the most popular plays is on Texas Tech -5 against Utah State in a 6-vs.-11 matchup. Less than 24 hours following the selection show, the Red Raiders are inspiring 89 percent of the wagers—good for 83 percent of the handle. Bettors are also content to settle for less value on the money line (-220), with 86 percent of the bets and 89 percent of the money on Texas Tech to win outright.
