The Dallas Cowboys are 3-0 when Cooper Rush starts at quarterback and 0-1 when Dak Prescott is under center. You can’t make this stuff up, folks. It is true that Rush’s competition level has been unspectacular, as he has defeated the Giants and Commanders after getting the best of a banged-up Bengals squad. Now Rush and company face last year’s other Super Bowl participant, the defending champion Los Angeles Rams. Dallas has to go on the road, too, after playing 3 of its first 4 games in the friendly confines of Jerry World.

Here are our predictions and best bets for this Cowboys-Rams contest.

Dallas Cowboys vs Los Angeles Rams expert picks

We have 3 NFL picks for this week’s clash between Dallas and Los Angeles. Let’s take a look.

Against the spread pick: Rams -5.5 (-110) over Cowboys

Rush’s luck may finally run out on Sunday. Although the Cowboys’ 3-game winning streak is impressive given the circumstances, they have not exactly faced the stiffest competition. They  beat the Bengals by 3 points at a time when Cincy’s offense was floundering. Then they scraped past Daniel Jones and the before taking care of the lowly Commanders. The Rams – despite their Monday night loss to the 49ers –  are a far superior squad to those NFC East teams. There is no shame in getting stymied by that San Francisco defense. Dallas’ defense is also solid, but it has gone up against 4 struggling offenses. Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp should be able to bounce back from Monday’s woes, and this team is obviously going to be motivated.

Over/Under totals pick: Under 43 (-110)

Neither offense is setting the world on fire these days. The Rams’ big offseason signing of Allen Robinson appears to be a bust – certainly a sizable downgrade from Robert Woods. Unsurprisingly, Stafford’s total reliance on Kupp has negatively impacted the entire offense. Following after the retirement of Andrew Whitworth, the offensive line has struggled. Stafford was under constant pressure by the Niners and now he runs into Micah Parsons. On the other side of the ball, Aaron Donald may give Rush a rude welcome to Los Angeles. All in all, expect a low-scoring affair.

Player prop pick: Darrell Henderson, RB, LAR Over 33.5 rushing yards (-110)

Darrell Henderson has seen most snaps among Los Angeles running backs in 3 of the 4 games this season and he has exceeded this 33.5 number on 2 of 4 occasions. He has clearly established himself as the best RB in the L.A. backfield, which isn’t saying a ton but should be enough to get him over a modest line. Against opponents other than the Niners, Henderson has averaged 4.1 yards per carry. The Cowboys allow the 11th-most yards per game to opposing running backs at 105 and their 4.78 YPC is 13th worst in the NFL.
