Dallas Cowboys vs San Francisco 49ers Same Game Parlay at +715 for NFL Divisional Round

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (85) reacts after catching a pass for a two-point conversion in the third quarter of a wild card game against the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium.

The finale of the Divisional Round features the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. Dak Prescott led Dallas to a win in the Wild Card round over Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, but this will be their toughest matchup yet – and it comes against Mr. Irrelevant. Brock Purdy and the 49ers have won 11 straight games and find themselves as a slight favorite on Sunday, so I’ve analyzed the matchup and have created a Same Game Parlay that pays out at over 7/1 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

49ers -3.5 (-114)

San Francisco 49ers -3.5 (-114) over Dallas Cowboys

Brock Purdy and the 49ers are the hottest team in football. They’ve won 11 straight games, and Purdy is 6-0 as a starter as the Niners are just 2 wins away from the Super Bowl. San Francisco is coming off of a dominant performance in the Wild Card round as they beat the Seahawks 41-23, but it wasn’t as easy as it sounds. The Niners were losing 17-16 at halftime after a few defensive miscues put the Seahawks in excellent positions to score. However, it was a completely different second half, as the 49ers scored 18 points in the 4th quarter alone. On Sunday night, Purdy and the Niners welcome Dak Prescott and the Cowboys for what should be an excellent Divisional Round showdown. Dallas got here by defeating the never-aging Tom Brady and the Buccaneers on Monday night, yet that double-digit win didn’t give me any confidence that they could keep up with the 49ers.

For starters, Brady looked terrible. Although the stat line shows 351 passing yards, he had a completion rate of just 53%. On top of that, the Bucs’ running game was non-existent. Tampa Bay rushed a total of 12 times and relied on a 45-year-old quarterback for the entirety of their offense. San Francisco is nothing like the Buccaneers. Purdy is a mobile quarterback with excellent accuracy, and they have one of the best running backs in football in the backfield. The Niners are the most complete team in football, and they should win their 12th straight game on Sunday.

Christian McCaffrey to score a touchdown (-160)

Christian McCaffrey has revitalized his career in San Francisco. McCaffrey has scored 11 touchdowns in his 12 games as a 49er, which includes 6 rushing and 5 receiving. He’s found the end zone in 7 consecutive games and has been held scoreless in just 3 games since being acquired by San Francisco. McCaffrey is the definition of a dual threat as he’s run for 100+ yards in 4 of the last 6 games and has recorded 30+ receiving yards in 5 of the last 7 games.

He seems to be involved in nearly every red zone play that the Niners run and has become a favorite of Purdy’s, so I expect several checkdowns to him, which should lead to him winning the race to the outside and finding the end zone. If the 49ers are going to win this game, it will be through McCaffrey’s efforts on the ground and overall performance. He’s scored in 7 straight, and I think he can do it once more.

CeeDee Lamb to score a touchdown (+160)

The 49ers are close to being the perfect team. The exception is their secondary which has been their weak link all season long. San Francisco allows 223.2 passing yards per game, which ranks as the 10th-worst rate in football. But in recent weeks, the problem has become covering the opposing teams’ number one option. Last week, the Niners allowed 136 yards and 2 touchdowns to DK Metcalf. And before that, they allowed 91 yards and a touchdown to A.J. Green, 153 yards and 2 touchdowns to Davante Adams, and 77 yards and a touchdown to Terry McLaurin. It’s easy to see a trend has developed.

Taking the pattern into consideration, CeeDee Lamb is poised to have success. Lamb finished the regular season on a tear as he recorded 100+ receiving yards in 3 of the last 4 games which resulted in 3 touchdowns. In Monday’s win over the Bucs, Lamb had 68 yards and a touchdown. Dallas is well aware that they will have trouble rushing the ball against the #1 ranked rushing defense in the league, so Prescott will be looking to throw constantly, and I think Lamb will be the biggest benefactor of that game plan.
