Texas is 7-5 and FanGraphs has its pitching ranked 2nd behind only the undefeated Tampa Bay Rays. NBA pick today: Oklahoma City Thunder +5.5 over Minnesota Timberwolves (-110), 9:30 pm ET

The Thunder showcased their resiliency in the first round of the play-in tournament, mounting a 2nd half comeback to edge past the Pelicans. It was an impressive win against a Pelicans team that was at one point in time at the top of the Western Conference standings. For Minnesota, it was an absolute collapse and a lack of offense when it needed it most in a loss to the Lakers. The Timberwolves held a 7-point lead heading into the 4th quarter before going completely stagnant offensively. Because the Thunders are a young up-and coming team, while the Timberwolves are a team at the center of dysfunction and disruption, backing the Thunder to keep this game close will be our play.

MLB pick today: Chicago Cubs +1.5 over Los Angeles Dodgers (-140), 10:10 pm ET

The Chicago Cubs will start Justin Steele, who has had a near perfect start to his season. He has allowed just 1 run and 7 hits in 12.0 innings. The Dodgers will start Noah Syndergaard, who has been decent since returning from Tommy John surgery a few years ago.
