Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns prediction

It’s been a trying time for Steph Curry and company. While the Warriors remain one of the favorites to win the NBA championship this season, they need to start proving it and this game against the Suns and Devin Booker is a huge opportunity for them to silence their critics. However, Phoenix crushed Golden State earlier this season and the Suns will be desperate to make another statement against their Western Conference rivals.

Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns expert picks

We’ve got 2 standout NBA picks for tonight’s game between the Warriors and Suns.

Warriors vs Suns point spread pick: Warriors -1 (-105)

The Golden State Warriors (6-8) travel to Phoenix to take on the Suns (8-5) in a rematch from October 25 when the Suns absolutely trounced the Warriors in convincing fashion by a score of 134-105. Devin Booker led the way for Phoenix, leading all scorers with 32 points, while Cameron Johnson added 26 and Chris Paul chipped in with 21 of his own. The Suns shot an impressive 51.1% from the field and 41.4% from beyond the arc. While it was an impressive shooting night for the suns and a marquee victory, they’ll be without both Cameron Johnson and Chris Paul tonight. Will the Warriors avenge their embarrassing loss a few weeks back, or will the Suns overcome injuries and steal a win from the defending champs?

The Warriors are 0-7 on the road this season and will be without Klay Thompson tonight, but they are the much healthier team heading into tonight’s game. On top of the health issues, the Warriors and Suns have been trending in opposite directions over the past week or so. Golden State has finally started to play some inspiring basketball, winning 3 of their last 4 games, including a win over the Cavaliers — whereas the Suns have lost 3 or their last 4, including a loss to the Orlando Magic.

There’s some bad blood between these teams as well, with Draymond Green, Warrior’s head coach Steve Kerr, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton all getting hit with technical fouls in the last game, while Thompson was ejected from his 1st NBA game in his career. After getting clowned in their 1st matchup, I’d expect the defending champs to have a little extra motivation heading into tonight. Look for the Warriors to stay hot and put another W in the win column.

Warriors vs Suns Over/Under totals pick: Under 228 (-110)

The game total for tonight opens at 228 points after 239 points were scored in their 1st meeting. Despite the high-scoring affair last time out, much of it was predicated on the hot shooting of the Suns. I wouldn’t expect the Suns to replicate that performance considering they’re without 2 of their major offensive contributors in Chris Paul and Cameron Johnson.

Without 2 of their better scoring options, the Suns will be forced to rely on their defense — something that’s been a focal point to their success. They have the 3rd best defensive rating (108.7), while the Warriors have held opponents to under 115 points in 4 of their last 5 games. Although it’s a regular season game, I’m expecting a heightened level of intensity as the Suns are trying to overtake the throne in the West. Back the under.
