The four-year-old won in maiden special weight company in a six-and-a-half-furlong contest at this venue in October last year. The pick faded late on when upped to a mile for a Del Mar stakes contest subsequently and appeared to find the drop in grade in his favour when making all to score by two-and-a-quarter-lengths in a five-and-a-half-furlong $32,000 claiming event here earlier this month. Extra sixteenth here should prove no issue and the Jimmy Creed colt can follow up.
The son of Accelerate showed ability in a couple of maiden claiming races over six furlongs at two. The second of those saw the gelding finish seven-and-three-quarter-lengths fifth in a $62,500 maiden claimer here in early November. Tim Yakteen’s charge gets a marked drop in grade here and has been gelded since that latest effort. The pick has delivered a number of timed works in recent weeks and is taken to make his first start of 2023 a winning one.
Joined current connections having delivered an impressive all the way ten-and-a-half-length victory in a $12,500 claiming contest at Golden Gate Fields in January. While the gelding proved a disappointment in an allowance optional claimer subsequently he showed improved form when a length third in a $20,000 claimer over a mile at the start of this month. Looks the main pace angle in the field and is taken to make all the running to register a fifth career win.
The winner of two of his last three starts the selection registered his seventh career win when successful by half-a-length in a $45,000 claiming race over a mile at this venue at the start of the month. Subsequently claimed he tackles a similar contest here on his first start since changing stables. The gelding has delivered a couple of works here since that latest success including when clocking 1:02.40 over five furlongs and can provide Juan Hernandez with a winner.
Showed good form here last year including when runner-up in the Grade 2 Santa Anita Oaks over a mile-and-one-sixteenth in April. Made just the three starts since then however and delivered a solid two-and-a-quarter-lengths second in a seven furlong allowance optional claiming contest here on seasonal debut last month. Expected to have improved for that effort and having won both previous starts at this distance the daughter of Uncle Mo is taken to register a third career success.
